Super Bowl Cheerleaders
January 31st, 2009There are so many sites on the internet that are dedicated to NFL cheerleaders that College Football Sidelines decided to be a little different. We decided to concentrate our efforts on the wholesome all-American group of young women that work the sidelines for major universities and colleges.
Sometimes, however, it’s hard to ignore pro football cheerleaders. That is, unless you happen to be a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. The Steelers simply don’t get it. They don’t have cheerleaders. While there are certainly dedicated fans in the stands, there are no official cheerleaders for the five-time Super Bowl champions.
Now, if you’ve ever been to Arizona, you know that the Arizona State cheerleaders and the University of Arizona cheerleaders are some of the best looking college cheerleaders in the nation. So, naturally, the Arizona Cardinals have a nice group of local talent to choose from.
In honor of Super bowl XLIII, we give you the Arizona Cardinals cheerleaders and the Pittsburgh Steelers cheerleaders.

Who will you be rooting for in Super Bowl XLIII? We’re picking the Cardinals!
Idaho Cheerleaders Skimpy Outfits
January 25th, 2009The University of Idaho doesn’t win a lot of football games. But, when they trotted out these new cheerleader outfits for the 2008 season, alumni got as uptight as the string ties on the more well-endowed cheer girls.
The first problem the University of Idaho Vandals cheerleaders caused was when the UI logo was sewn into their panties. You would think that the fans would be happy that the Vandals football team finally won, but they weren’t; the victory was apparently tainted by the logo on the undergarments.
So, the squad trotted out these new halter style cheerleader uniforms and again were hit with complaints from fans and alumni.
An editorial in the school newspaper said:
Jaws dropped at the Vandal football game on Sept. 6, and it wasn’t because the football team finally won a game. It was because of the dress of the cheerleaders. There was an uproar about the taste level of the Vandal spirit squad’s uniforms with laced-up details and low cut halter-tops that didn’t seem to provide much support.
“There were a number of complaints after the Idaho State game from parents and alumni and community members that the uniforms were not appropriate,” Bruce Pitman, vice provost of student affairs, told The Argonaut. “We talked about options and alternatives and decided that we needed to replace the uniforms that were used with other uniforms that would be more comfortable. To be fair, there were a number of fans who liked them.”
The scrapped uniforms cost $4,200, and while the cheerleaders waited for their new uniforms to arrive, they wore football jerseys and volleyball shorts which were certainly less revealing, but kind of hot in their own right.
Cassie Helm is our kind of woman. As published in a recent edition of Maxim Magazine, it was announced that Helm resigned as the University of Idaho cheerleading coach in protest over all the fuss about the Idaho cheerleading uniforms. “What’s the big deal,” said Helm.
We’ll let the readers of College Football Sidelines judge on their own.
